LOVE BATTERY: FAR GONE Third Studio Album (1993)

LOVE BATTERY: FAR GONE Album cover

Far Gone, is the third studio album by Seattle grunge band Love Battery. It was produced by Michael Beinhorn. Far Gone was released on June 1, 1993 through Sub Pop Records.

The album Far Gone was considered a disappointment by many, after the critical success of Dayglo. Initially, Far Gone was to be released by PolyGram Records, but due to contractual issues with Sub Pop, the major label dropped Far Gone. Instead, Sub Pop released an inferior “rough mix” of the album, a problem Love Battery planned to rectify by remixing and re-releasing, but never did.

Following the Far Gone fiasco, Love Battery signed to Atlas Records in 1994 and released the single “Nehru Jacket” at the end of the year. It contained two songs that also made it onto the band’s 1995 album Straight Freak Ticket, which was also released on Atlas; However, the label failed to properly promote the band and the album, resulting in poor sales.
