The Getaway is the eleventh studio album by the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on June 17, 2016 through Warner Bros. Records. Marking a distinct departure from their signature style, it is the band’s only album since 1989’s Mother’s Milk not produced by Rick Rubin. Instead, they collaborated with producer Danger Mouse and mixing engineer Nigel Godrich, resulting in a more atmospheric, melodic, and pop-psychedelic sound. It is also the second and final studio album featuring guitarist Josh Klinghoffer before John Frusciante‘s return in 2019.
